Sara Benham, Ph.D., CCC-SLP
Dr. Benham’s research focuses on phonological and lexical development in toddlers and preschoolers with and without speech and language disorders. She uses transcription-based approaches, acoustic analyses, and motion tracking to assess speech production, as well as approaches from network science to detect principles of word and sound organization in the developing child.
Dr. Benham completed her PhD from the University of Texas at Dallas, mentored by Lisa Goffman, and was a post-doctoral research fellow at Indiana University, mentored by Linda Smith.

Eden Placer
I am a sophomore at UVM majoring in communication sciences & disorders and minoring in linguistics. I have worked with children in a variety of settings for over six years, and I absolutely hope to continue doing so in my future career. My research interests center around phonetics and literacy in preschool and elementary age children. In my free time I love to write poetry, read, spend time outside, and I am learning guitar!
Sarah Dangel
I am a sophomore majoring in communication sciences and disorders with a minor in childhood studies. I am very interested in children’s fast mapping skills and their overall language development. I enjoy music, singing, and am part of an a cappella group on campus.
Rebekah Dalmer
I am a junior studying communication sciences and disorders with a minor in American Sign Language. My academic interests include development of speech, audiology, and learning new languages. When I'm not studying, I enjoy crocheting, baking, and listening to music!
